Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder and Executive Functions Group

What is it?

Russel Barkley, PH.D, describes ADHD not as a deficit of attention, but rather a disorder of executive functioning skills. This group explores six executive functions and develops skills to improve functioning for individuals with ADHD and Executive Functioning Deficits.

Working Memory

The brain's "RAM" - what we need remember to complete tasks, stay focused, and return to tasks when interrupted.

Emotional Self-Control

The ability to feel and express emotions while honoring others' perspectives.

Sense of Time

The ability to monitor the passage of time and plan accordingly.

Starting and Stopping Tasks

Overcoming procrastination and avoiding "deadline panic."

Remember to Remember

Remembering the things that need to be done over a longer period of time - appointments, errands, etc.
