DBT Skills
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) focuses on the idea that negative behaviors, including self-harm, risky behaviors, and substance use, were developed to manage big emotions and high stress environments and may no longer serve us. This is an opportunity to learn new skills to help you show up for the life you want to have.

The four Modules of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT):
Mindfulness
The ability to be present in the moment, to notice one’s feelings before they become unmanageable.
Emotional Regulation
Recognizing where our emotions come from, where they reside in the body, and being able to express them in a beneficial manner.
Distress Tolerance
Learning to experience stressful situations without “lashing out” or engaging in unhelpful behaviors.
Interpersonal Functioning
Being able to express your needs in a relationship while preserving your self-respect and well-being.
